Patient Support Group
The Brent Sickle Cell Patient Support Group provides support for people with sickle
cell disease and their families.
Activities include:
- Promoting awareness of sickle cell in the community; including seminars, hospital
visits, and advice on welfare and benefits.
- Fundraising and special events for example sponsoring children to visit Lourdes
in France, outings, dances, Christmas parties, sponsored walks.
The group is run on an informal basis in order to encourage the free exchange of
ideas. All meetings are open to all individuals who may wish to share their views
and ideas; families and friends are also welcome.
Meetings are held on the first Friday of every month at 7 pm till 9 pm at the Brent
Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Centre.
